Posted: 31 MarchI didn't hate this game by any means, it was moderately entertaining-but it's simply not worth $20. I beat the game in less than 2 hours, and the only reason I'm at 3 hours is because I went back to unlock a few achievements (which are incredibly tedious, by the way) and because I paused for a bit to microwave and eat some chicken nuggets. The graphics aren't bad, the ambiance is immersive enough, but the puzzles were few and VERY easy.

Too much clay. The combination of these three types—and in which specific proportions—determines the texture of your garden soil. Is it sticky when wet? Evergarden game. That texture affects drainage and the availability of nutrients.

(I found only one puzzle challenging, which probably took me 20 minutes of guesswork because there is no indication in the puzzle itself of a solution and I refuse to look up solutions online.)As someone with an academic background in philosophy, I found it mildly entertaining but mostly. A few epistemological questions are raised, but no great point is made and ultimately the incessant voice-over with its face-palmingly indulgent, self-referential script is entirely irrelevant to the gameplay itself. The voice actor was great though, so there's that. All of that said, if you like pseudo-intellectual musings rambling on as you solve easy puzzles in a walking-simulator, you'll enjoy this game. If you want a game that does everything this game does, but better: Play The Talos Principle.

Pneuma: Breath of Life is a short but enjoyable puzzler by Deco Digital. It's a story of wonder and discovery, but ultimately disillusionment. Like Thomas Was Alone, the game's narrator is half of the fun, so you don't want to rush through and finish levels too quickly because you'll miss out on bits of dialogue.

The similarities end there, as there is only one character and the visuals are rather polished and high-production value for an indie title. That said, I'd suggest playing through without this walkthrough and only pulling it up if you get truly stuck on a puzzle. Most of them are quite straight forward, with only 1 or 2 that might trip you up.Even two of the three secret achievements are 'fairly' obvious if you have a keen eye, with only the final one for the 5 paintings presenting a real need for a guide. There's no real need for hints per se.

Just keep in mind that whatever you look at, you interact with. The puzzles are centered around manipulating objects with your vision and movement in relation to their location, usually using a blue eye either on or near them. The game should take about 2 to 4 hours for first timers to complete everything apart from possibly the 3 secret achievements. Those can be had easily either via imbedded text in the chapter walkthroughs to come, or by checking out my 100% Walkthrough that is already up and ready for you on Youtube.
