Submitted on 3/19/2017 Review title of Effin MojoI really enjoyed this one 👍Great pacing, plenty to discover, perfectly balanced as far as mechanics and gameplay. I logged a little over 13 hours on this, based off searching for and finding all the villagers and banking enough pixel currency to purchase all the upgrades. It was nice to be able to sit down over the course of a few days and truly complete a game both story wise as well as achievements. Don't let that sound as if there isn't any challenge, because there is, as well as some light thinking and puzzle solving required.

To give you an idea, my final count for deaths was around 150, with a lot of those coming from some of the precision jumping sequences. But the great thing about the game is, in many situations I found that there were multiple ways to get past whichever obstacle the game was throwing at you. Mix the upgrades to empower your character in the mix, and this should be able to be 100% completed by most. We better get a sequel! With a combination of classic in-game mechanics (that feel similar to older side-scrolling platformers such as Super Mario World, Paper Mario and Megaman) with a touch of new ones, this game is easily a fun game that is also easy to pick up. Even the dialog throughout the various cutscenes is entertaining.

The only downfall to the game is that there is approximately five to eight hours of play (depending on a individual's experience in the side-scrolling platformer genre), but seems fair, as I got the game when it was on sale. Overall, it is a wonderful game that, for the most part, all ages can play, I highly recommend it, and hope to see a sequel (but with an increase in content).

I can see it being impressive towards a younger and newer audience to platforming. But not so much for anyone veteran to higher in gaming looking for something more engaging. Has an interesting premise appeals to gamers but Like from beginning to end it does not ramp up in any way.
